Scripture reading:
1 Samuel 24:1-22

Though David was not guilty of betraying Saul or trying to harm him, Saul was suspicious and vindictive. He continued to pursue David.

David showed restraint when Saul was close enough for him to kill. And David showed courage when he confronted Saul outside the cave. But David chose not to avenge Saul's behavior. He trusted God to protect him.

Kids today can trust God to help them respond, when others commit sins against them. When others mistreat them or make false accusations against them, God wants kids to forgive instead of getting even.

God can give kids the strength and courage to forgive instead of seeking revenge.
